Coming to you from the distant shadows of the behemoth brewery at 721 Pestalozzi St... formerly known as Anheuser Busch. I've already gotten helpful info from this site and hopefully I'll have something to contribute as I get several more brews under my belt.

Very much a noob at this point. Brewed up my first batch with a more experienced friend a couple of months ago. That was enough to give me the bug and I went out bought a very lightly used Brewers Best kit, plus some other stuff (turkey fryer & kettle for outdoor cooking) from a guy on Craigslist. Then I did my second batch solo.

Both batches were Brewers Best (Red Ale & Cream Ale) kits and pretty simple They both turned out GREAT. I'm looking forward to many more to come.

Cheers,

Welcome!

Don't be afraid to test your hand with all-grain and a few simple recipes you throw together yourself (90% 2-row, 10% crystal, and play around with the hops = hard to go wrong).

I have about 30-batches under my belt, and about 28 have been recipes that I have thrown together from what I have read/like/and learn from the last batch.

There is a killer red-ale recipe that I have brewed several times if you are interested-- just PM and I will share.
