Hello,

I've brewed a lot a few years back - life happened -

Now, I am getting free time back and decided to get a bit more serious.
I am still very much a beginner and I am thankful for this site and its community for its much needed guidance and support.
I am ready to start my first two 5 gallon batches of beer as soon as the rest of my equipment arrives by mail.

I've been tempted to buy some conical fermenters. I currently have a freezer with inkbird controller and carboys. With the conicals I wouldn't be able to as easily control the temps. (setup is in the unheated/controlled garage.

Anyways, I got a bit off topic. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you all, especially my other Oregon brew mates!

Welcome from a fellow Oregonian, now transplanted to California. Sounds like you're well geared up. Let us know how things turn out.

Thanks for the welcomes!

My Spike Brewing 15gal boil kettle should be here sometime this week; also expect my Duda plate chiller, march pump and Edelmetall Brü burner to arrive soon!

Welcome! And as to the conicals...

I have multiple SS brewbuckets that fit perfectly in my chest freezer ferm chamber (I can fit 2 side by side). I use the blowoff setup as with airlocks they defintiely would not fit. That being said, most conicals on the market have optional temp control jackets. The problem with that is at that point you are talking serious money.

Anyways. Welcome back to the hobby and enjoy! :mug:

Thanks for the info, I hadn't looked into jackets for conicals.
I was thinking of just building a room to keep them in.
I believe i'll get several brews under my belt before I worry about that anymore...... And yet, even as I type this I have two cl ads I am working with on getting fermenters.
