Hi all. I've been lurking around for a few weeks here, and figured I should pop my head in and say hi. I'm a beginning (or rather, about to begin) homebrewer from Sacramento, CA.
I've thought off and on for years about brewing my own beer, and finally recently realized, what the hell am I waiting for, so I went out and grabbed a starter kit from my LHBS. I'm actually out of town on vacation right now, and it's been killing me to have all the equipment sitting around for a couple weeks, but waiting to start brewing until after I get back. On the good side, it's given me much more time to read and learn what I'll be doing. I've read enough "oh crap, did I screw up" threads to know I just need to RDWHA(H)B.
So, thanks to all who have come before me and posted so much great information here. I have already learned a TON and feel much more relaxed approaching my first brew day. I know (roughly) what to do, and have no fear that I might screw it up beyond repair.
