Hello all,

My name is Kevin and I have just finished bottling my first batch, a Boulvard Wheat beer clone. My first taste was promising. It was a little light bodied but I am hoping that the carbonation generated during bottle conditioning will help. So far, this forum has been great; lots of good information.

Anyone here from the Kansas City area?

Welcome to the forums KC.

I love Boulevard Wheat...especially on tap. I just wish we could get it down here. What kind of yeast did you use?

I used a dry Munton's ale yeast.. I could have sprung for a white labs yeast but figured that I should wait to buy the more expesive stuff until I at least had a batch under my belt.

I am looking for ways to brew beer on the cheap. I am guessing that I will need to learn how to cultivate my own yeast for that.

There are a lot of threads here on yeast washing...you can save a lot of money on yeast that way.

I've searched the web all over to find Blvd Wheat clone. Where did you find it? Post the recipe please. One of my favorites, especially on draft.

Yeah, I'm originally from Independence, but lived in the Westport area of KC for a year. Drank a lot of Boulevard Wheat (great stuff), but regret never taking a tour of the brewery there. I plan on doing a Boulevard clone soon, since it is not distributed down here in GA.
