Hey everyone, i've been lurking and browsing. Getting a good idea of how to get started and what i'm getting into.

Feeling very encouraged and informed from everything I read - so far these forums and the wiki is the best source of info I've found on the entire web. If its not hosted here, you can almost surely find it linked.

The downside is I haven't even purchased equipment or started a batch yet, and Yuri and John Beere have me planning my full out systems and automation DIY projects. So..... maybe a little TOOO encouraged and informed!!!!!

dont worry, SWMBO will reign me in quickly. (hopefully after a couple batches of beer, I can win her over with a little wine here and there as a bribe!!)

Either way, thanks for haveing this outstanding source for information and support.

Welcome to HBT --

SWMBO wants out of the cold and ice up here ... maybe we will come dow your way and BREW!

Thanks for joining in! Beer brewing is a never ending learning prosess. Start out slow read alot ask questions make friends and you will convert wine drinkers into beer snobs. Oh and don't forget join clubs (NORTH ATL HOMEBREWERS) if you need equipment we probably have enough laying around to start off a few new brewers.

Welcome! What part of GA are you in?

Woodbine, its a very very small town about 14 Miles up from the Florida State line on I-95.

I would love to join a local club, but I'm 5 hours from Atlanta. I'll have to do some research and see if there are any located closer. (its a kink that also plagues the other hobby i'm interested in, keeping a couple honeybee hives, which i'm thinking could lead to some awesome CHEAP mead!)

you should have no problem finding clubs in jacksonville or brunswick. Valdosta is a stretch for you, but there isn't a club here anyway. Savannah is a drive but they have to have at least one club.

whats the best way to find local clubs? Is there a website listing or something somewhere?

EDIT: I'm an idiot.... too much time on the forums and wiki to discover the "Groups" and "Clubs" links at the top of the page. DUH.
