Greetings from a complete n00b in Michigan

From what I've seen from lurking for so long, there are a number of fellow Michigander brewers so at least I'm not alone. I started out over in the Flint area, spent a few years in Lansing, and now I'm down in the very southwest corner of the state.

Anyway, I'm not afraid to admit I've never brewed anything other than a cup of coffee, but looking forward to getting started with beer. I'm not new to drinking it, just making it

I'm in need of a hobby that doesn't involve sitting on a computer and have been contemplating home brewing for some time now, but never really got around to making it happen. Hopefully I'll have all of my equipment in the next week or so and start on my first batch.

Even though I haven't started yet, I've already learned a lot from all of the discussion here.

Thanks, everyone. My last hobby turned obsession had to do with vehicles, so no matter the cost of brewing my wife is glad to see me find something a little less costly to occupy my time

It's a mild obsession for me. I have a couple of project cars that I need to get back into, but first have to haul one up from downstate. Brewing has filled in my need to obsess better than I could have imagined. I can actually spend less time in the garage working on my car, than I do on a brewing day.
