Hello all from Cincinnati, OH (transplanted from the great state of Maryland!)

Not sure if this is the correct forum, as I see it is mostly home brew talk. I have an issue with my Beverage-air beer tap and need advice.

I've had it 15 years and always works great. Use 3-4 half barrels annually and get the CO2 recharged and inspected at this time.

Just tried to pour a beer last night and nothing.........gauges are at bottom, so i suspect the CO2 is empty. I just had it filled one month ago and put in a fresh quarter barrel. Haven't examined anything yet, but suspect there's a leak somewhere? Also wondering if I should get all the hoses, etc. replaced, since they're old.

Any advice highly appreciated.........also if there is another forum that specialized in beer tap issues, the link would help.

Cheers! :)

Welcome aboard! As you've probably seen there is tons of great info and great people here to answer just about any questions you can think of.
It sounds like if you're going thru more CO2 than normal you probably have a leak in your system.
I haven't done any kegging in a few years but he's the forum for kegging to look around for answers.

Thanks for the quick reply. My initial thought was to refill the CO2 and do a leak check with soapy water. Will see how this one lasts. Guess the quarter barrel in there is going to be flat? Good thing I didn't have the usual half-barrel in the chute.:)

I would replace your "service" line if you haven't in a few years, but obviously thats not your CO2 issue. I've wrestled with leaks here and there. If you're using 1/2 barrels you've purchased I'd suspect that you may have a leak in your regulator. I get a spray bottle filled with a bit of dish soap and water or starsan solution. Spray down all the connections on the regulator. Really saturate them, and if you see tiny bubbles there is your problem. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

Thanks, will do and report back. Am I correct in assuming the beer will be flat and undrinkable?

I'm not sure about right away, but the beer should be fine once you get it back on CO2

Did a pressure check and am 99% sure the keg had a leak. Took a photo and sent to my distributor who is comping me a new keg. All good pending the production of the replacement keg. thanks!:)
