I was agreeing with you until you gave honorable mention to the office. Really? WTF? Now I figure you are just stoned in posting this.

Seinfeld..sorry you are wrong, it happens.

But I liked MASH, still watch it and I too love the theme song especially the version with the words.

Have you seen the original (British) version of The Office? I'd totally agree that the American hack job blows but I'd also agree that the real deal OG Office is one of the better sitcoms ever.

M*A*S*H's Adam's Ribs is the best episode of any tv show I've ever seen (and it was first aired before I was born). M*A*S*H was truly great, but, it went slowly downhill after Trapper and Blake left, but the finale was great (still the most watched tv show of all time?)

Greatest ending? How about the final episode of Newhart. When Bob wakes up next to Suzanne Pleshette and realizes the whole series was a dream. Seems he ate too much food before going to bed.

Now, sitcoms aside, NYPD Blue was the best show evah. I'm pissed that it is not in syndication on any channel.

Being British I generally find American sitcoms to be god awful but there is one exception that may even match us for levels of comedy approaching genius. That show is "Community"

I have seen the British version. Didn't like that one, either.

Guess I am going to show my age, but here goes.....

Barney Miller
Taxi
WKRP in Cincinati
Bob Newhart
Cheers

Honorable mention
Seinfeld

I always thought that at it's peak, News Radio was the best. But it had a short peak.

We started re-watching Cheers again on Netflix, and I was amazed as how good that show really was (even with the beer goggles of time affecting my memory). I don't know if it's the best ever, but it's got to be in the top 3.

Home Improvement.

I really liked Alias Smith and Jones and Desperado. but I am a fan of westerns. Those 2 will never win any awards for sure. Maybe Have Gun will Travel...

Not the "greatest ever", I probably would give that to MASH, but one I enjoyed for the two seasons it aired was Sledge Hammer!
