When do yall test the first time for FG? After that test how long till another gravity reading to see if all femintation is finished? If it were not finished how long till 3rd test? I hate to waste any of the good stuff but over carbed and in bottles has its own issues. (I recently discovered)

I usually check it around the 10th day after pitching. If it is at FG, I don't take another reading and keg at that time or within a week or so after (depends on when I get around to it).

I wait until the krausen had fallen and the beer has started to clear to take the first sample. This is about day 18 after active fermentation had begun. If this sample is clear I'll take another sample in three days. If this sample does not indicate FG has been reached I'll sample again in two days.

Thank y'all for info. Time for another carboy. This one is in a pail and still SLOW bubbling at 12 days. Waiting impatiently.
