Doesn't effect most of you, but I'm sick of paying $4.00/lb for grain!!
I guess that's what I get for living in Alaska.

That sucks buddy.. Are there any local craft breweries you can hit up to sell you some of their grains? Perhaps in 50# sacks? Probably cheaper, but maybe not.. Just an idea

start malting your own. its not hard to do and I pay about 8 dollars for a 50 pound sack of unmalted grain.

Also, go nooks.

Looks like someone has started a new homebrew supply store in the Valley.
After a quick email exchange, looks like my grain price just went down to $2.80/lb, delivered to my door via USPS.

Thanks for the suggestion. Might have to get some guys together for some bulk orders.

We pay 1.80 lb in Soldotna. We have a new homebrew shop that opened last year and he has good prices. There is also a guy on Craigslist in the valley selling bulk grain for around 50 bucks a sack. You might talk to him about putting a few sacks on Carlile and shipping it to Fairbanks that way.
