For those of you with plenty of experience all-grain brewing. . .what spacing do you generally run between your grain mill rollers?

I see that JSP's Malt Mill advertises a spacing of 0.045", but there are adjustable mills as well. . .so there must be some need/desire for adjustability.

Along the lines of adjustability, how large a range of adjustability is necessary/desired?

Thanks!

It depends of your manifold/false bottom in MLT and how fine coarse can it handle.
Finer crush will increase efficiency but it can also cause problems during lautering (or circulating if you use recirculating system).

I think anywhere in range 0.040-0.045 is good starting point, from there you can try to narrow it and see how it works w/your system.

Looks like I'll be talking with the brewery today to check out the specifics of their system.
