I picked up some WL English Dry Cider yeast today. I'm excited to try it, as I've heard it gives very nice results for the apfelwein/turbo cider.

I sorta missed out on the apfelwein phenomenon because I was gone for awhile. But interestingly, I simultaneously picked up a UK thread where a guy called Deadly Des was making almost the same stuff!

I made my first batch of "Turbo Cider" a couple weeks ago and am enjoying it right now. I'd like to try mixing in some blueberries, cherries, and frozen mixed berries to see how they change it.

Hooray for yeast!

I will be interested in how that turns out. I have just used the Lavlin wine yeast for mine but have had good results with that. Good Luck.

I had a WL English Dry Cider last month at my HB meeting. It was very very dry. It tasted very good though but I like it not so dry.

I think its worth experimenting. Definately different than your MRB experience.
