I still have no idea if this mess is going to happen. I went away this week to Presque Isle MI for my yearly vacation with the inlaws just afterwards... so things right now could go either way. Thanks for all the good wishes all.

I mean that.

Presque Isle is beautiful, haven't been there in about 35 years - glad to see you back CG!

So, officially made it to round 2 even though I beat the crap out of myself for poor interview performance. Usually I rip up an interview, but this time I was thrown some (rather unnecessary imo) stumpers. Made it anyway. Here's to hoping.

Funny you should be the last one to post Sailor... thought of you when my father-in-law caught a 4.5 lb large-mouth bass and gave it over to me to filet (he's not big on killing things, even fish). I got him fileted on the dock and then popped the rest of him sans-guts in the stock pot. Hopefully the m-i-l finds some good use for fish stock. The filets I grilled in a tinfoil pouch with some dill, lemon slices, dried italian seasoning, olive oil and salt and pepper (a little crushed red pepper too). When they were done the juices in the pouch made a nice sour drizzling "sauce". Pretty awesome!

Finally got word, and it was good. Guy tells me he wants to touch base, this is at noon, and doesnt get around to it until 5. Way to make me sweat. When I did get to talk to him he said "I think its safe to say this is a go, I just have to think a little more about timing. You should feel good that you now have a plan." Load off my mind.

Last night I celebrated with a can of beer and a $3 cigar on my balcony :)

That sounds great. Well, the beer does. :D

Congrats on the new job. But what does "I just have to think a little more about timing" mean?

The start date. Looks like instead of starting at the new position before my contract runs out, looks like Im going to work the full contract before starting at headquarters. That suits me just fine, even if I wind up getting a day or 2 off.

HR is calling me at 2. This is really happening. My stomach has become a soup of acid, bile and coffee. Here's to hoping all the news is good and they sneak anything in there at the last minute.

Wow. Ok. No particulars on the money end yet... but I know its a lot. Plus benefits, overtime, etc. More work than I have been used to for the past two years, but I can handle that. Shorter commute, but longer hours.

This means a lot of things...

If I come online tonight posting a lot of random things you can disregard. It just means it has fully hit me and Im drinking.

Im making something smelly for dinner and celebrating. Maybe I'll buy a cigar...

They are terrible negotiators. I told them what I was asking for, and they offered me 3k MORE than that ;)

This is a real gamechanger. If I can adjust to the new position and keep the right people happy, issues with money and insurance will rapidly start to erode.

I'm very very happy.
