I'm just dumbfounded!

I entered 3 beers (a Helles, Brown and a Mild) in a local homebrew competition just to see what happens. I wasn't able to go to the competition so I just saw the online results.

My British Mild (11A) won first place in the English Ale category. I don't know what the score or feedback is yet since it hasn't come in the mail, but I'm so stoked!

Really the only people that ever drink my beer, besides me, is my wife and a few friends. This, at the very least, tells me that I must be on the right track.

Funny thing is I thought it wasn't sweet enough, but it definitely has a nice nutty flavor to it and is a good ol' session beer.

Congratulations! Good Job! :rockin:

I'm a little behind on brewing this year so I have missed most of the competitions in my area (for the first part of the year). There's always next year.

Well, unfortunately it's all gone. I have another batch fermenting but I changed up the recipe a bit because I thought it wasn't sweet enough and added some crystal malt. Now maybe I'll go back to the original recipe I created.

I can offer up the recipe to anyone that may want to try it. Just as it's style suggests, it is a nice mild ale with more than a hint of nuttiness. A very refreshing ale.
