What are some ales that are less affected by higher room temps - mid/high 70s - and so might be good choices to make in the summer?

Do some research on German Dampfbier you can ferment quite high in temperature, not to be confused with California Common/Steam beer.

US05 can handle (sub-optimally) low to mid 70's (room temp). Above that, you're really limited to saisons or some Belgian strains (most Belgians will throw fusels if you start a ferment that high though). You're better off with a swamp-cooler or fridge/freezer.

Saisons & wheat ales. Dampfbier is another good one I did a good recipe for, listed in Recipes under my avatar...
