Found this on eBay but I'm not sure about the polished stainless.

I'm unsure why some stainless is around 100 but the blichmann stuff is closer to 350! Could someone please let me know if this would be a waste of my money, and suggest a cheaper alternative to the blichmann stuff. I'm looking for 15 or 20 gallon pots.

Cheers!

Pretty good deal. One main difference between this and the Blichmann is that this is a plain stock pot while the Blichmann comes with a valve, thermo and sight glass. You can still do all that stuff for less, but it's like Lexus vs. Honda...

Seems like a great deal to me. Now if you could find a local restaurant supplier that distributes that stuff, you'd be golden. No $20 in shipping charge.

Honestly, IMO, the valve is the most useful part on a Blichmann, unless you're aiming to use it as a mash tun as well as a BK. You can always use a demarcated paddle or measuring stick for volume measurements, and a thermometer on a BK or HLT is mostly useless.

That kettle is a good kettle. Same style as I have. The main difference between Blichmann and that kettle is Blichmann kettles have the layered bottom.

not sure how a thermometer on a bk and hlt is useless. If you dont know the temp on your hlt, how are you measuring temp on your strike and sparge water. On the bk it lets you know when you get close to boil to avoid that big original hotbreak. Also on the BK it is great when you are using an IC.

Totally agree with all of that...

Cheers!
