I'm thinking about trying so fruit flavored beers using different fruits but wondered what would be a good base beer. Any suggestions (ideally with a dme recipe!)

I've thought about this too. I'd like to make a summer beer for my girlfriend. I thought about making a cream ale and adding some blueberries or raspberries to part of it. But a Belgian Blonde does sound good too.

I like a simple american wheat for fruit based beers. Works nicely with peach, apricot, and watermelon.

I just finished an American Wheat that I had added 5 lbs. fresh strawberry to the secondary. It turned out great and is one i will definitely being doing again.

I made SWMBO Slayer and added 3 lbs of strawberries in keg. It was amazing.

I've been searching the forum for an extract version of the SWMBO Slayer. Would it be the Belgian Blonde from Midwest?

Also, I don't keg, I bottle. Would a few weeks in secondary on a couple pounds of strawberries be sufficient? And fresh strawberries? Sorry for all the questions...

Brewing an american wheat right now for SWMBO, simple light/wheat base, low AA hops, orange/coriander, WB-06

Wheats are apparently the easiest fruity starter, they're forgiving.
