It is a big fall honey crop here in the northeast. Would it be suitable for a 5gal. batch of Mead ?
My bees are working it hard.

Any experience with it anyone ?

Thanks for the replies everyone.
My hives are wreaking with goldenrod right now, it certainly has a distinct odor as they are packing it in. Can smell it downwind from 50 feet.
So I am going to see how much surplus honey they have next month and make a batch of mead with the surplus.
To be honest i have a 1 gal batch started in may from goldenrod honey from last winters dead hives but a taste test recently had it burning all the way down from tongue to tummy. I know it is still young.
