Glass blown equipment your thoughts

Well, everybody's given you some thoughts about this. Since you're not a Vendor on the site at this point, though, no sales or discussion of sales can take place.

Good luck- I really like some of the ideas put forth in here! I know that glass tap handles weren't what you were thinking, but I sure think they would be cool! Cheap plastic airlocks are under $1, so I can't see myself purchasing handblown glass ones. But glass tap handles? Yeah- that would be awesome.

Back to tap handles... I would consider if they were nice! I have some inserts and am currently looking for items to drill and tap for tap handles. Some nice glass ones would be sweet!

Ditto. A borosilicate hydrometer test jar would be sweetness for taking preboil gravity samples and chilling them, especially if the walls were thick enough to take the typical knocking about that hydro jars seem to get.

Doubly sweet would be if there were some way to incorporate the rubber/plastic bumpers you see on graduated cylinders so they don't break if they get knocked over.

Doesn't blowing on it when its soft cause it to get hard? It's been a while, but I think that's how it used to work...

OoOooo I like that ideas! Especially if you make some funky shapes and mix in some colored glass with clear, sweet!

I found the torch I need, going to pick it up today, then off to great grandma's to get the lumber, marble and graphite for my work station. Will also order some glass tubes and rods this week. No plans on selling anything anytime soon, but I will start posting pics once I start working.

I still need to find a kiln I can use locally for the bigger things.
