I have been brewing for three years now. I have used HBT on occasion to sort out some questions and concerns, and finally decided to join and participate. It seems like this group is very diverse in experience, which is great. And even more important, it seems like a group that is supportive. I see very few negative or condescending posts, which is rare for many forums these day. I hope to give info when I can.

As for personal information, I am married and have two young kids (2&4). I work in central Iowa and am involved in agriculture and farming. If there is anyone out there that has questions or concerns about what farming is these days, I love to talk about it. I only get the chance to brew about five times a year. I really like to brew some kegs for get togethers with friends. I often have empty kegs and fermentors, and still rely heavily on the store for my day to day beer though. What can I say, I have a wife, kids, and a hobby farm, lots' of things to do.

I have been able to connect with a few local homebrew friends in the area, but there is not much fanfare around here for it. I have also recently recruited my brother-in-law into the homebrew scene.

I look forward to doing more brewing in the future and increasing my skills along the way.

Piss off.

Joke. Welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn the hobby. Read some stickies, use the advanced search bar, and ask questions that you can't find in the search. Are you extract or all-grain? You can brew more than 5 times a year by doing extract if you can find a couple hours to blow. Have the kids help. Anyways, welcome to the forum. Prost!
