I sent a pair of sunglasses back to the factory to be repaired. I broke them (I think I sat on them, or similar). Well past the warranty.

Hoping for the best. I know they will charge me. It's already a few bucks to send the glasses back to them, and $10 non-refundable.

I hate wearing any type of glasses, but in FL sunglasses are occasionally necessary. These are the best I've worn (for me). The broken set sat around here for 6 months, then somebody said to send the in for repair - it would be cheaper than replacing. I did just that. Just got an email that they received them.

I'm posting this to record my experience because I know others have been in this same position.

I have always had good experiences with both Maui and Costa. I did send in a pair once to Maui that had long been out of production, and didn't have parts available. That allowed me to purchase any pair from their current catalog for 1/2 price.

Overall I prefer the Maui's over the costa's, and wear them 85% of the time. The costa's are wrap arounds, which I find to be a bit warm. They are generally reserved for winter time boating.
