I've never been to Germany, but while stationed in Dover the flight crews would bring back a popular beer there. I think it was called 1889 or some number. I figured with all the military people here someone would know the name or either tell me I'm dreaming the whole thing up.

Thanks all,

That's probably it, all I really remember were four numbers and it sounded like a specific year. Thanks for the quick reply.

I have fond memories of Kronenborg.

For some reason, in college, we got in the habit of buying it whevener we could afford it.

It was the first "decent" beer I ever tasted, I guess.

So is this available in the States? I was under the impression that this was only available in Germany.
