What Slym said. As an example, I lagered a helles for just over three months and then fined it with gelatin. Both processes remove yeast from suspension, but the bottles still carbed up just fine.
 
Legendary. Thanks for the input. I haven't messed much with finings, but now that I'm starting to enter into contests, people like clear(er) beers, so I figured I should check
 
You could brew darker beers or hefes for comps. I would try adding it to a bottling bucket and bottle as normal to test carbonation.

Good point. I need to get a few more stouts going and the latest porter I bottled turned out pretty nice. Actually my RIS took 2nd at the new mexico state pro am last month. My IPA only took 5th and the main complaint was it was hazy, and I love a good IPA and APAs too, so just trying to figure out what I can do to make them pretty and still carbonate right.
