I start all my pepper plants from seed in February. I have in grow tent in my garage with a 400W ballast...this is key for establishing root structure. I usually pot them up to a 1 gallon pot in April and plant out late May or early June. But, honestly with pepper...it's experience. Especially in the Pacific Northwest.

Candy peppers............or at least that's what I've been referring to them as. I have been baking them in the oven along with squash and things, leaving them whole and they seem to have a slight sweetness when cooked. I've been eating 2-3 a day!

Harvested my corn, and getting ready for potatoes now.

Planted some crops for Fall this morning. Probably pushing it a bit with some stuff. Will also plant some radishes in the next few days.

What variety is this? It appears to be a Aji (baccatum) but im not sure which one. I grow Lemon Drops and Aji Citos... love baccatums!!...Is it a sugar rush peach variety?

Aji Melocoton and boy are they tasty. The yellow ones are lemon drops

Thanks, i will put those on the list. Im going to grow sugar rush peach also next year but there are more than one phenotype.

My pepper plants have been real quiet the last month - they came out strong with a couple peppers but then stopped. I noticed yesterday they are now starting to flower again. Also, the hops are just growing side-arms like crazy.

Got some strawberries coming back, too...

Sounds good, yeah mine too, i think it is because it hasnt been sunny here.

Mine had a lull because it was crazy hot and plants were dropping flowers before they could set pods. Pods were dropping too sometimes. Last several days/nights have been cooler and some plants like my poblano are finally setting pods. Im getting another round off my Scotch Bonnet that lost tons of flowers too.

Really odd because all my Ajis, 7 Pots and 3 varieties of jalapenos did just fine (mostly) except for a little sunburn on the lemon drop pods. My NuMex Lumbre flat out loved the heat wave.

My peppers did the same, we had a ton of rain and not much sun and the peppers kind of went dormant, but they're flowering again as well

I think our Denver City Park display is kale and artichoke. Man I want to go back and snip these.

In my city, it's not uncommon for people to go ahead and pick or snip what they want. A few of my neighbors have had their goji berries and roses picked recently. Some people here apparently think these are city gardens that the public is free to pick from (seriously?!?!) while others are just thieves. Actually, they are all thieves.

I can't stand people. So far I've been fortunate and haven't had anyone take my flowers from my front patio, but I'm waiting for it to happen some day eventually.

My Serrano peppers are going nuts. I have 5 or 6 plants, and they are just covered with peppers. The Thai peppers that I had great hopes for haven't done much of anything, but they look like they are setting up for a strong finish.

Tomatoes this year have been awful. I've gotten a handful of cherry tomatoes so far, and that's it. And I planted most of the garden in tomatoes this year.

I've picked a few eggplants and yellow squash. The runner beans look good but they are not blooming for some reason. And the cucumbers are just starting to bloom. The dogs keep running over the vines; next year I will put them on some kind of trellis (the cucumbers, not the dogs)

I planted a couple of tropical milkweed seedlings (Gomphocarpus physocarpus) in the garden for my wife's butterfly hobby, and they are almost 7 feet tall now. They almost look like oleander bushes. They are just about to bloom; don't know if I'll get any seeds before frost.

I think next year I will put an electric fence around the garden again, and I will plant mostly sweet corn.

Little bit of fire today Plus a few ripe jalapenos i save just for hot sauce and about 6 more Korean peppers i have drying for powder.

A June hailstorm destroyed my garden but I replanted and should start getting squash, eggplants and cukes this week. Tomatoes are still a couple of weeks away, but our normal growing season lasts into November so that's gine. But the hailstorm didn't get my herb garden, yesterday I harvested a bunch of thyme and basil to dry for the winter. The oregano will be picked once the others are dried.

Man sorry to hear, hope replant works out.

Mostly hot sauce. The long red ones are Korean gochu. Those get made into powder(first year trying this). Jalapenos are mostly for nachos and pepper relish/salsa.

Lemon drops and Aji citos make crazy good hot sauce that wont melt your face. The lower left orange peppers are Beni Highlands. Its a milder habanero type. Just a little hotter than serrano but they can get upto around 80k Scoville or so ive read. They are good on nachos too. You get that "hab" aroma without the typical hab heat.

Upper left orange are 7 Pot Yellows but i think they are hybrids and did not grow true. They are wickedly hot. I use a couple to heat up milder sauces or in Caribbean style curry

I also have a bunch of hot Anaheims and a couple really mild Anaheims. Mild get roasted and peeled and/or used in verde sauces. The hot ones will mostly get dried when ripe since i got lots of them

Have fun with your peppers and tomatoes. I got nearly squat this season. I have 4 plants of Roma and I think 3 of them have a few fruits growing. A couple of grape tomatoes are growing in my garden from last year's seeds. A few fruits on there as well, but probably only enough to pick and eat while you are out there picking other stuff.

Cherry and Grape Tomatoes have been coming faster than I can eat them. Just picked another batch of banana peppers, definitely going to pickle them some night this week!

Another year, another tomato plant which didn't do much. We got about 7 tomatoes, but by the time they were actually ready to pick, something started taking little bites of them (squirrels) and the gnats/flies found their way. I think we salvaged 2. The plant is beginning to flower again though, so we'll see if we manage some late season veggies.

The pepper plants are flowering again as well, which is always good to hear.

Hops are...growing sideways. I'm not sure when to expect some cones, but I'm guessing it should be soon as I believe a mid-September harvest it common in my area.

@harbortown ahh man, wish there was more. At least you got hops, hell yeah. Are the tomatoes getting a lot of sun and food? I have had that happen with some late plantings. We put green t's in window. I spray chemicals for bugs, need to soon, actually. Cant wait to see some hops.

I should win an award for the ugliest hop garden! After our hailstorm stripped my bines of all leaves, the grew back with a vengeance, but they are all laterals and none of my bines are over 6' tall now(some were 10-12' before the hail). Several of them left their wires and infiltrated the chain link fence and are growing in every damn direction except up. But I'm picking 4-6 ozs of Cascade, and 2 ozs of Magnum every 2 or 3 days now so I don't complain. I should even get a small crop of Centennial this year..
