I've done two partial boil extract recipes, and both turned out good, and I'd like to start doing full boils. The problem is that my stove top can't boil 5 gallons of water in my boiling pot, but it can boil 3.5 gallons, and still have two burners free in which I could boil an additional gallon or two.

Is that an option? Can I do a full boil in separate pots like that? Obviously, the best solution would be to set up a burner outside, but let's assume that's not an option.

Smaller batches.

It's about the same time involved. You can
have more variety on hand, brewing more
often.

I've choked down a lot of beer wishing I'd only made
2.5 gallons instead of 5.

Also, I just got back into beer brewing after 5 years of
making mead or wine only. Just don't have the ability to
do 5 gallon full boils. Once it hit me I could make smaller
batches with the gear I have, I got back to making beer.
Making less than 5 gallons seemed like a waste of time but
it works for me.

All the Best,
D. White
