Fruit flies

They are not a big issue, I probably have more in my office than in my brewery, that being said, there always seems to be a few hanging around, when brewing I make sure I keep sanitized equipment sealed, cover anything that they can infiltrate,take out any spent grains and leave no sugary"treats" for them to breed in, lastly a hang a fly catcher (paper)between my fermenters..

What do you guys do to combat those annoying little pests.

I ignore them when brewing, and use vodka in my airlock. Otherwise, I still ignore them. No infections in 15 years.

They are attracted to yellow, I have these yellow butterflies with tangle foot and hang them over my barrels. Put plugs or caps on the taps if needed. This year I haven't had a single one.

I've been setting out small jars with half cider vinegar and half water - with a couple of drops of dish soap mixed in. It traps the fruit flies.
