Greetings,

I'm looking for confirmation here. Are there others that lay awake at night formulating recipes, thinking of ways to improve their beers, and dreaming about home brewing?

This hobby is getting pretty intense. I think about it constantly. I think it's driving SWMBO nuts. At least she likes to drink good beer or I'd really be screwed:D

I have a lot of hobbies but man, this one is great:mug:

I used to read books and guitar magazines before falling asleep at night.

To be honest, most of the time, now, I'm reading BYO or a northern brewer catalog...

I was doing that last night. Watching tv and reading a Northweern Brewing catalog. My SWMBO doesn't even drink, but she is glad I enjoy it. She got me the brewers kit for Xmas. I can't wait until Summer and sit outside and drink with friends on the deck!

been on the computer since about 2am playing around in beersmith and reading forums. got a pale ale brew planned for around 11 am this morming
shooting for a bass ale taste, the wifes favorite so far. thank god she likes real beer or my "hobby" would have been in the toilet a long time ago.

I wife likes my hobbies, generally. She doesn't have any. I can't understand her. She says her kids and her house are her hobby. She did scrapbooking once and forebade me give it a try (like I wanted to...) because the was afraid I'd be better at it than her. But she only did it for a while. Good thing too, because all her friends were convincing her to spend lots of money on that hobby. Good thing I don't know anyone around here who does that!

My wife told me recently that brewing isn't a hobby for me, it's a habit.

More like a lifestyle. I don't go a day, let alone a minute, without thinking of hombrewing in some way. For me, it is being able to do something so seemingly simple (brewing) and make it as scientific and complicated as I choose. All I can say is....awesome. :mug:

I have to admit, it's been an increasing obsession. The first boil... then the agony of waiting for the first beer... then the second boil, just to keep myself from going insane waiting. Then Building the Kegerator to serve it.

Then the first pour.... Ok it was still green but MAN was that good.

Then my first dissapointment... See Hops disaster... But I'm working through that as this site has managed to keep me semi calm about it.

Now On to the next boil this w/e... an English Pub Ale that I am truely looking forward to smelling both at the boil and in the Primary.

Now if I Can just make sure that I can get my neighbors to drink the brews that I don't care as much for.... hehehehehehehe... I need to make room for new beers in the pipeline! :D

Now I need to figure out how to brew in the summer heat... Need a temp controled Fermentation chamber....:rockin: Oh this is getting bad as my summer plans are swigning arround from Sailing, Cycling, travel... to Brewing, Hops growing.... Developing more tools to alow me to brew all year round with consistency and temp control...

And where does this lead me........ DOH!! :drunk: of course!

Alright, I feel a little better. I'm not the only crazed one.:cross:

I havent even started brewing yet, but this already has my fiance worried.

I think she will come around when she tries the beer.....
