I have the opportunity to buy a 7.0 cubic foot Holiday chest freezer for only $100. But the question is, what is the most economical way to set everything up? I currently have a dorm fridge that is holding a 5 gallon fermentor that is lagering. It can hold one fermentor or 2 Corny's. This new freezer should hold 4 Corny's or 2 fermentors. I have no equipment for kegging yet but would love to start. So, if you loved lagers, but wanted to start kegging and had this set-up, what would you do?

I would keep a couple corny's in the small fridge and serve with picnic taps. Ferment a bunch in the freezer until you have a bunch of kegs full and then swap the kegs to the freezer.

If it were me, I would use it for carboys as a fermentation chamber until I got my kegging equipment then I would use the dorm fridge for the fermentation chamber and the chest freezer as a keezer. Also, don't know the specs on the freezer but you could fit two more corny's or a carboy on the compressor shelf if you build a collar for it. You'll need to get a temperature controller (50-100 bucks).
