Freezer Help

I was just adding a wooden collar to an old freezer to convert it to a keezer - I was adding some mending plates to the inside of the freezer and all of a sudden... a hiss. I have tried to plug it - the hissing seems to have stopped. Is the freezer ruined?

That's not good, not good at all. Before you spend any more time or money I would wait to see if it still refrigerates. My guess is that you punctured a line. Bummer
