I have a pale ale in primary fermentation. Its been in for 12 hours. This morning I could smell the yeast doing there thing but no bubbles. I took a better look at the airlock and resized there was a small crack that the CO2 was escaping. I repaired the crack but am wondering if the crack could have let any contaminates in. Or am I being too worried. Thanks.

I cracked the lid under my airlock on my last batch...literally had krausen coming out of it. Just dry-hopped it yesterday and there didn't appear to be any signs of infection

You should be fine. I had the same problem but couldnt fix it, ended up just putting a blow off tube on. Those little yeast's are hungry and eat most anything.:rockin:
