I have a bucket of Coopers Ale that I totally forgot about in my garage. It's been almost a year. Should I dump it? Try to bottle and carb? Is it worth messing with? Will it still be drinkable? Thanks for any help you can lend.

Unless it looks super nasty, I'd take a sip of it. If it tastes ok, then bottle it up. But you'll probably want to pitch new yeast because I'm sure what's left there is probably dead.

That being said, depending on where you live and the state of your garage, there were probably some massive temp swings over the year so expect some off flavors. But like I said, if it tastes somewhat OK when you try it, I'd just bottle it. Worst case is a month later you are dumping all the bottles.

I can think of several other worst case scenarios if you do drink it......... I might sort of put my tongue to it ..... Then spit it out. See if you could taste it that way. Might give it a good smell first too. Smells don't lie :)

Being this a month old, I am hoping you are still with us :)

First off, you need to do some sort of penance for forgetting the beer. I'll think of something.

Was there an airlock on the bucket? Did it still have liquid in it? If it dried out, was there a pellicle on the beer? Nothing that can hurt you will survive in beer but it can make it taste nasty.
