I'm shocked that Cinci over Cleveland is only like a six or seven point spread. I don't think Cleveland's going to win a game until Quinn comes in (and even then, they won't be very good), but I'm also not sure that Cinci's a team that I'll really feel very confident about wanting to pick in future weaks. So, I figure it's getting a pretty solid lock-down win while only losing "access" to a team that I don't have a lot of confidence in most weeks anyway.

I know, that one looked like a sure bet. I stayed away from it only because I'm originally from that area and I know how these rivalry things can get. I'd usually bet on Carson Palmer and that offensive over a (lack of) defense like Cleveland's, though.

By the way, does anybody know what happened to 98EXL? Not only did he not make his pick (and he was the FIRST one to send in his money), but he hasn't even been on HBT for like a week. I PM'd him but haven't heard a thing. I hope he and his family are ok!

I agree- I only see one sure bet. My problem is the overthinking- instead of just making my pick, I think and rethink. Then, I work through all the "what-ifs" and consider all the options. Then I think some more. Finally, in frustration, I just pick my original team. It's worked for me so far- one week in a row!

Next weeks teams are pretty equally matched. Teams with mediocre offense playing teams with mediocre defense. How do you pick one of those? It's going to be a tough week and I anticipate quite a few more drop outs. I only hope I'm not one of them!

Kudos to anyone that makes it past NFL week 9 (our week 8). Due to the way the byes fall, the pickings are slim in NFL week 8, and in week 9, the good teams all play each other or are on the road against decent teams.
