That 10-15 business days is the "party line" for USPS Ground. My guess is it'll be quicker than that, but I don't know that I'd risk screwing up a birthday on it.desertBrew said:Friggen, grrr. AAAARRRHHHGG. SWMBO Birthday is Feb 20th. sonofa...

BeeGee said:Good idea on the DME...not sure why that didn't occur to me? Could also vacuum up my leftover grains. Maybe I can adapt it to work on growlers!
Same thing here...I guess they really only had one model and that's what you get no matter what you ordered.desertBrew said:Just got my FoodSaver. I ordered the VAC900 but they sent me the V840 model Healthy Eating Kit with a note "You've been Upgraded" because of the overwhelming orders of the 900 now being out of stock.

It's a shame yours hasn't come yet...I'm using the crap out of mine. All of my hops and grains are now vac'ed, and I've used it for all sorts of food items that are in the freezer now.Walker-san said:I'll give them a chance to call me today. If I don't hear back, I'll give them a call tomorrow and have them 'fix' this problem.
I haven't had any seal issues...mine have all held. I do leave an ample amount of extra bag, though...I don't try to cut it too close. That seems to keep most of the hop matter down in the bag and not up around the seal or in the machine.RichBrewer said:Anyone have any problema with their bags not holding a seal? Some of the hops I bagged have begun to leak. I was wondering if it could be caused by hop matter getting in the part of the bag that seals. I also notice that a lot of hops stuff gets on the FoodSaver rubber seal. Man that is hard to clean off!
I think that is part of my poblem. Those bags are so expensive that I tried to cut costs. Maybe I better make them a little bigger.Baron von BeeGee said:I haven't had any seal issues...mine have all held. I do leave an ample amount of extra bag, though...I don't try to cut it too close. Yeah, I leave ~3" at the top. I am fearing the day I need to buy more. However, one advantage to leaving a lot of excess at the top is resealing. I opened a bag of hops the other day by slicing the bag right at the seal. By the time I had pulled out enough hops for my batch I again had enough headroom to safely reseal the same bag.RichBrewer said:I think that is part of my poblem.
