Workingman Mild would've been a nice addition to this line up, in addition to being straight-up delicious.

Not that I'll have any of these, or even see this room, because

I'm a FOBAB newb this year. Please tell me what I need to know so that my FOBAB is less of a shitshow. HALP.

Relax and enjoy lots of fun beers flowing freely. BA Abraxas was a weird dark horse entry in 2012 that had no line, so there's good stuff overlooked.

Drink your rinse water. Don't be afraid to dump something if it sucks or take small pours. Eat a good meal before you go and consider getting food midway through the event.

Do lines strategically. Get water or beer before getting in a huge line. If you're with a group, see if the people behind you mind if you send runners for refills. Last year, there were water stations easily accessible from the GI line, which made it a good time to hydrate.

^^Lots of good advice right here.

Don't just flock to all of the big name places. Read the descriptions and try random stuff that sounds good to you. There's a good possibility you'll find something awesome. Granted, this is much more of a crapshoot than it used to be as the entrant list has gotten much bigger so there's a chance to get something nasty as well.

Don't present a ticket unless asked.

^ For me this is key. You'd think small 2-3oz pours won't affect you too much, but after a while it sure does.

Last year I was surprised some things lasted as long as they did. I looked at the Veritas line and thought, "oh, that will be gone by the time i get to the front," but 30 minutes later it was still pouring--so if you really want to try something don't be too intimidated by the line.

I have two tickets for the Saturday evening session that I need to get rid of today. I will not be able to make it, I'll be in Canada, not Chicago :( Will sell for face. That's $127.98 including the fees I paid.

Oh FoBAB... bringing out Chicago Craft Wardrobe Enthusiasts....

Okay, so I just put my tickets up on Stub Hub. I'm going to be unavailable for part of the weekend so if you know anyone who wants to go or overhear anyone looking for tickets for tomorrow, send them there. The pdfs are uploaded and I'm selling at face. Just really hate to see them not be used.

Dammit. I'm not being nice to people any more. I held onto them for someone who swore about 40 times they were going to buy them.

If they aren't sold tomorrow, someone make me an offer. Grrrr.

All the pours of Claire's Thirsty.

You're welcome.

Best. Beer. EVAR. (if it wasn't evident from the "signature" at the bottom of my posts) Tried it for the first time at FoBAB 2012. Crooshed 4 pours at Haymarket the night before FoBAB last year...and then had a couple more at the event itself. Been on insulin ever since.
