Who wants to bang this week/end? Staying at the Marriott UIC for FoBAB convenience. Hitting Northdown tomorrow night.
Will be at Northdown tomorrow, I'll be the mongoloid looking dude
Yes! They also poured it at the fest under the name of Radlersnake. ******* killer beer. I'd drink that daily if I could.
careful on that rye pentagram kids.... it's like a roofy for beer nerds... last time i started drinking that I woke up 12 hours later on a friends couch like 5 miles away from where i was drinking. If anyone is off work today and downtown, River Roast had a Surly beer dinner and took over all the taps last night and had 2014 Darkness, Rye Whiskey BA Pentagram and their 8th Anny beer on tap among others. I'd bet they are all still on today.

Happy some people agree, that group has gone full retard. I didnt think what I was saying was all that controversial, but apparently I am in the wrong for wanting breweries with established histories of barrel aging to have the spots. I mean seriously, is this list a joke? Look at Ratebeer and check out some of these places!
Middle Brow (no beers over 10 reviews, HAS THREE ******* BEERS!)
River Dog (2 beers over 10 reviews)
Hailstorm (1 beer over 10 reviews)
Rude Hippo (not even in database)
Mystery (8 beers over 10 reviews)
Southern Prohibition (3 beers over 10 reviews)
Like Minds (no beers over 10 reviews, HAS ONE ******* BEER!)
Buckledown (1 beer of 10 reviews)
Woodfour (2 beers over 10 reviews)
Champaign County (no beers over 10 reviews)
Mobcraft (2 beers with over 10 reviews, this is a ******* homebrew club)
Big Shoulders (1 beer over 10 reviews, HAS THREE ******* BEERS!)
Blacklist (1 beer over 10 reviews)
Stickmen (no beers over 10 reviews)
I realize people are supporting the work of friends or their own and Im completely fine with that, but dont feed me ******** about how the price increase is justified. There is plenty of **** I will drink there, and I am sure to go check out some new stuff because that's part of the fun, but this is poor form. This gives me a bad feeling that this is more geared towards getting friends of Crowley's exposure even if their beer sucks ass, which assuredly, most of it will.
I think fuzzy had some buzz before from the folks who had a couple side projects (like that great one at zwanze who's name and style I've forgotten), as it kicked pretty early but it could be because myself and 30 other people in IMBIBE told everyone they know to go check it out when the gates opened to session one (and because some rastafarian was pouring full glasses of it.) But for the second session word spread, helped on by the award, and it became the bee's knee's.I'm all for new breweries at Fobab, if for no other reason than spreading out the lines. Though with more attendees at each session I'm not sure how much we will notice. Of course if one of those new small guys wins a medal tonight you'd better believe everyone will be clamoring for a chance to try them. Isn't that kind of how it was for Side Project last year after Fuzzy won? Or was their line long to begin with? I know I only first heard of Side Project at the Great Taste a few months before last fobab when I tried the blueberry flanders for the first time.

also speaking of attendees, this has potential to be a colossal f*ckin disaster. I walked through the space yesterday and though the ceilings are higher, I think the square footage is about the same. Its like 6 rows about 15 feet wide and I'm not sure how everyone is gonna fit in there or navigate lines. There is a disaster potential of goose island anniversary block party proportions brewing.
you're right, its a slightly larger high school gym. its has disaster potential but the silver lining is with the high ceilings, the last hour or two won't smell like hot farts.I've been to the Forum before for a UIC graduation, is fobab in one of those "gym" type areas? I can't remember the exact layout but I know the room we were in had bleachers that rolled out and then a gym type floor (not sure if carpeted of not). Kinda felt like a slightly larger high school gym.
