For you idiots (srs) that didn't attend the BeerFX Beyond the Brew Sour event last night, Upland brought a few cases of Pawpaw Lambic bottles. I'd be surprised if this didn't show up at FOBAB.

It was good, too. Imagine a funkier Persimmon.

Wasn't it sold out? Or are you calling people idiots that just didn't show?

Was reading the checkins, seemed like a good time but......eh.

Unlimited Saison du Fermier is killer doe.

Because this is the sort of information that matters, looks like yellow wax on Brettanomite bottles:

$20/each. Max 1 per person. Opening at 10am. Join us for brunch before #FOBAB!

Sad that I'm going to miss this, but oh well ... can't try every beer.

I had a glass at the brewpub a few weeks back. It was good. Nicely sour and tart and all but I feel like Sour in the Rye or Oude Tart would be just as enjoyable. No wax, of course, and not part of Goose's 25th Anniversary Series (which is a legitimately nice bonus, I think) but such bottles are sitting on shelves everywhere.

I feel like a retard that I can't decipher this post from ICBG on FB. Does it mean there is shuttles from Red Line to FOBAB between 5-7pm? Or does it mean there is no shuttles then?

A lot of emails received, so here you go: SHUTTLE BUSES 1ST SESH - we will have shuttle buses running from the Red Line (35th stop) to #FoBAB from 11AM until 2PM. Pick up, drop off, pick up, drop off... cool? SHUTTLE BUSES 2nd SESH - 5PM - 7PM, none stop from Red Line to #FoBAB. Pick up, drop off, pick up, drop off... cool? END OF NIGHT - 2 buses at 9:45PM will drop you guys off at the Red Line (35th street) aaaaaaaaaaand Ogilvie Station. Cool?

I believe yes. Only shuttle to Ogilvie looks like after 2nd session.

Will be in a grey Voodoo barrel room collection shirt with yellow writing. Come say whatup!

Good times. Only complaints from last year were resolved. They let us upstairs way at like 11:30 so even more drinking time. Lot of good beers. Side Project Saison du Fermier & Fuzzy were the best beers of the day. Off Color Radlersnake was awesome. I'd kill for some tall boy cans of that one to drink all summer. Haymarket Clare's was excellent. BA Abraxas was as good as I remember from last year. Wasn't a big fan of the Perennial Kriek though. Surly Misanthrope was another super drinkable winner. Barrel Aged Blot Out the Sun was tasty, but I'd never pay $40 for a bottle of it. The Goose thing in the back room was as great. Tons of beer and they never took tickets. Backyard Rye was just ok to me. Sweet like lollipops. Templeton Rye & Bourbon County Barleywine were great.

Bell's Rum Porter takes the honor for worst beer of the day. Tasted like permanent marker. So gross.

Clare's (sp? I don't think there's an "i," but I'm also wasted) was an under the radar star again. My #1 of the night as well. Blending station was cool, though I actually preferred last year's Goose setup. Central Waters Sixteen was also a favorite. I got my girlfriend's dad wasted on lots of barrel-aged stouts. Long story short, FoBAB continues to be the top beer event around, and one that I'm more than happy to travel 2000 miles for.

Glad I got to try BA Blot Out the Sun, not because it was good but because it makes the ISO's coming out of Chicago and The Region even funnier.

Sauternes BA Black IPA 4 Winning!!1!
