I currently use a manifold for fly sparging and it works ok but I'm wanting to use my silicone supply line from the HLT in combanation with a float.
Would this still be considered fly sparging?I imagine it would work the same way.

I just drape a couple of feet of 1/2" silicone tubing on top of the mash bed. No manifold, no float, just tubing. As long as you maintain an inch or two of mash water on top of the grain and maintain a gentle flow there isn't any issue with channeling or carving into the top of the bed...

Cheers!
