I got flaked spelt, unavailable at my LHBS, at Natural Grocers, questions is, can I mash this without a cereal mash?

Directions for food prep on the bag are add to boiling water and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Flaked grains at homebrew shops are basically rolled hot enough to be "instant" grain prep if prepping for food consumption. These are obviously not instant.

Any experience from people out there with this? Reccomendation on how to handle to get the starches soluble? I'm pondering if my standard 3 hour Saison mash at 146 will be enough to get soluble.

I'd figure that you could treat it the same as flaked wheat, since it's basically a type of wheat. I also know that spelt is used in some saisons (don't feel like breaking out Farmhouse Ales at this hour to get the specifics), so it should work fine.
