Does anyone have any idea if you would get more IBUs than the software(Beersmith) calculates as I assume it is based on a 60 min boil? If so, any guesses as to how much? Wondering if I use pils malt and 90min boil for DMS reduction whether any correction for IBUs should be made. I know the same amount of alphas will fall out with hot break, but don't want to end up with a harsh overly bitter beer.

For the most part you get the max out of the hops at 60 mins...30%.

Granted, a little bit can be squeezed out, but nothing as measureable like at the 60 min mark.

See The Hop Utilization Chart in Papazian's TCJOHB. :D

The hop utilization goes pretty much flat at 60 minutes, and turns into the Texas Panhandle at around 65 minutes. You might get a couple more IBUs, but I don't think it's much you need to account for.

Can't you set Beersmith to account for a 90 minute boil?

I made this screenshot before I realized that you were talking about FWH, so ignore the highlighted hops additions. The number you want to change is the upper highlighted value that says, "Boil Time." If you check "Set Boil Volume Based on Equipment," BeerSmith will take evaporation losses into account.

I've read that FWH will equate roughly to a 20-minute addition in terms of flavor impacts and utilization. It's too late at the moment for me to search for the source of where I read that.

I have no idea if a 60 or 90-minute boil will affect that effect.
