Hello all. I have been homebrewing for over two years now. I love it! Decided to take a shot at mead making. Wanted some feedback. Here is my recipe 2 gallon batch.
-6lbs of clover honey
-2 gallons of water (1 gallon of water steeped in teavana dragon fruit devotion tea)
- safale us05(made yeast starter)

Anythoughts or reccomendations?

you need to add yeast nutrient, or your batch will have a lot of trouble. Meads unlike beer worts, are pretty much void of vital nutrients yeast need for a healthy ferment. Many batches without nutrients stall out.

Some other good tips are to aerate your must 1-2 times daily for the first 1/3 of fermentation.

Check out the NewBee guide on GotMead for a ton of helpful info.

ok great thnx for info, i actually just aerated it earlier today. i bought a back up yeast packet as a precaution lol
