First time kegging questions

I got my kegerator converted for cornies, but now I have some questions. I'm testing it out with water, but even when I open my canister all the way it will only get up to around 12-15 psi according to my regulator. Does that mean my CO2 tank is low. I want to force-carb my keg tonight.

my bet is on sticky regulator. your tank won't start losing pressure until it is absolutely completely empty.

Yea I figured it out. I actually noticed right after my first post. The pressure adjustment has been moved. The beer is carbing away at 30 psi right now.

For me it takes about 36-48 hours to get a satisfactory carb this way, but it's a lot quicker than setting it at 12 and waiting a week and a half to two weeks.

Yup. I do all my beer at 30psi for 20 hours. Then purge the keg and drop to 12psi. This amount of carbonation is perfect for me and my tastes.
