First time doing AG last night. Goog SG?

My specific gravity ended up being 1.039. Desired was supposed to be at 1.050. How good is that for my first time?

You have to brew many times before you can really dial in your system. Next time adjust the recipe for whatever efficiency you had this time How well you did will be decided by the taste of the beer, not your efficiency. I'd just add some DME.
