Well, close anyways. This weekend I'll be getting my kit and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a good first time brew. I should say this is my first attempt with a REAL kit (i.e. not Mr Beer).

I really enjoy lagers, but will probably stick with Ales for now. Something with some nice bittering hops but light in body and color.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

a Pale ale might be nice figuring it's gonna be getting warmer soon so you might want a "lighter" beer for the heat. A blonde or Kolsch would be good too for lighter beers.

Your LHBS will probably have some good suggestions so talk to them. Besides it's a good idea to get in tight with your LHBS. If they are good they'll take care of you.

OK, good idea. They include the ingredients for a 5 ga. batch with the purchase of the kit. So I was just trying to figure out what I wanted to make and if some where "easier" then others.

I'll definently see what they have to say or suggest.
