I just racked my first pumpkin ale into the secondary and swmbo wants a sweeter beer that taste like pumpkin pie. While I like the taste, she wants it a little sweeter. I was planning on adding some Splenda when I bottle but home much should I add?

Add some pumpkin pie spice

Pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp Ground Dry Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Dry Ginger
1/8 tsp Ground Dry Nutmeg
1/8 tsp Ground Dry Allspice

Adding sugar is only going to restart fermentation. Not really going to help you. Just add the spice and see if she likes it then. If not, tell her to brew it next time...

I know sugar will start fermentation again and the taste is good in regards to the spices. It's just a little to bitter for her. Which is why I was thinking Splenda or maybe lactose. Do you think adding the spices will balance the bitterness instead of an unfermentable sugar?

I think a vanilla Bean will help offset some of the bitter... Splenda is super sweet, a little bit goes a REAL long way here too. and its non fermentable so it wont really become part of the beer... and certainly would not have an even flavor I cant imagine.. Unless it was added individually into bottles -
