Hello there!

So i'm still waiting for some airlocks to arrive in the mail, and decided to just brew as i was itching to get into it and learn. I bottled my wort into a 5 litre plastic bottle and made 10 sanitized nail holes in the bottle cap and put a rubber glove around the neck and tightened and put a few pin pricks in the fingers.

I've read the debate on foil vs airlock, but did not see anything on the latex gloves. I'll probably do foil next time if the airlocks have not arrived.

My question or concern is after 2-3 weeks, will the c02 dissipate eventually and the glove pin pricks and cap nail holes allow for oxygen to enter into the fermenter? Would it be better to take the glove and cap off and cover with foil or is that exposing it to oxygen? If the airlocks arrive in the mail, should i put them on immediately and expose the fermenter to oxygen while i do that? Or should i leave it be?

During the fermentation such a huge quantity of CO2 is produced that a lot of it goes out through the airlock but some of it is dissolved in the beer itself, more than the beer can hold long term. It will continue to outgas for quite a long time, more than the 2 weeks you mention so it will keep the oxygen out.
