Doing my first Dunkel today. Mash finished and it took 75 min and came up a little short. Temp started at 159 ended at 152. I have trouble keeping constant temp in my 5 gal cooler even w/flannel shirts and a winter jacket piled on top.

SG =39 Only one off but it took 15 extra min.

Bummer. while typing the above I had a boil over and lost about .15g. Grrrrr that hasn't happened in over 2 years. Gotta pay attention.

Here is recipe. It's in the boil kettle now,

Ok all done and in the fermenter. Hit my number pretty good. Pissed about the boil over but still wound up w/1.75 into the fermenter. I expect little trub and hope to get 16 or 17 bottles rather than the 18 planned for. Like a dummy I forgot to take a little taste. LOL
