I'm so excited!! Got the first brew on the stove now.. Got 30min before I reach "steeping" temp. The suspense is killing me! I know I sound like a little kid at Christmas but, I can't help it. This is something that I have wanted to do for such along time. Wish me luck!!! And, I know lots of patience. So, I'm going to sit back and a cold while I wait. :big grin:. Cheers everyone!

Thanks brewdad and to everyone for their support! Brewdad ur blog was very helpful

Congrats and welcome to the addiction.......

My advice is to go get another couple of fermenters so you can brew and not worry about having to wait for a fermenter to be empty. Building a pipeline makes the waiting part easy. My first brews I drank up before they got very much age on them. Even though I knew that waiting would make them better. Now I have plenty of beer to drink so waiting for a brew to ferment and age is no problem.

Good luck! Bit of advice... the first time you want to freak out over something that went wrong... DON'T! :)

Also, give your bottles a good 14-20 days before you drink one. Trust me on this one.

Thank guy!! Just gone with steeping of my first brew!! My kitchen smells awesome!!!!

Congrats! Be sure to let us know how it turns out. Brew day is like a holiday! I love it

Just pulled a sample out of my secondary. (couldn't help myself). AWESOME!!!! Kinda taste like warm New Castle. Has a acholy smell to it but, that should clear up in the next four to five weeks. Then to bottling it goes. So excited

Never happen. You have to spend some money to make beer. Still have to buy bottles. LoL. The ole lady is gonna kill me. Oh RDWHAHB .. LoL

Congratulations! Now get another fermenter and get another brew going ASAP. You will be really surprised how fast the first batch will disappear. Especially if you have friends helping you!:D

Oh, it still needs to sit in the secondary for about another 3 to 4 weeks. Then I'll bottle and leave in a dark dismale corner for two weeks LoL. Then I'll crack open o e when it is good and cold
