First brew ever

Hi, I'm about to buy a brew kit! Not sure what way to go? Mr. Beer or Coopers? Any help would be greet

I'd take it a step further and describe any starter kit as a gateway drug.

One of our home brew stores offers a turnkey three tier AG setup as one of their kits.
(if only it was remotely within my budget )

Agreed! Good deals on Midwest kits today, 10% off and free shipping. FYI, they almost never have free shipping....

Agreed. Just get an extract kit, and use a 5 gal pot. A capper, racking cane, siphon, and thermometer will run you 30$ and you can just keep using them. Am I missing some random needed equip?

Either way it will cost the same as mister beer and give you a larger quantity of higher quality beer. Just my $0.02.....

Just pick a beer kit in the style of beer that you like and do it. Follow the directions. Drink a beer while you brew it. RDWHAHB.

I too would look into starter kits from one of the major online suppliers and one of their extract kits.

These seem to have a bit more complexity and refinement to the flavor.

I starter with the deluxe kit from Northern Brewer and their Irish Red Ale extract kit. That was July 2011. I now have a 3 vessel gravity all grain setup and am at 34 batches.
