Finally received and/or built everything and will be commencing my first brew on Thursday, an Irish Red Ale. I will be using a starter and doing a full wort boil. Any last words of wisdom before the big day?

a few simple things:
1. make sure to sanatize everything well.
2. dont rush the process, relax
3. enjoy yourself. its alot of fun.

all of the above. Also, unless you have a lot of head room in your brew pot, watch vigilantly for boilovers, as they can come on in no time.

Other than that, just make sure that you have everything you need ready to be used (cleaned and sanitized), you have your ntoes ready to refer to, and you have a great time! pick up a couple beers to "help" you through, and relax!

All of the above plus i always have things like hops, grains etc measured out and bagged up ready to go just before i start. Double check them all against the recipe too.
Seems so obvious i know but i have in the past got so far in a recipe and suddenly thought 'blimely! forgot to measure the xyz etc out'
Having too many HB's on brew day can cause problems - Don't have too many!:D

Ah yes, the "stinky" conversation :D....Nice to see how observant I am, being that I posted in both and didin't "connect the dots"....

All you read up above is on the mark, but the most basic is, give nature the chance to do the work and you will be stunned at how well it comes out.

Sanitize everything, remember that the process is very forgiving of little mistakes, and relax and have a beer!
