Ok, so I'm Marshall from Boston. After 4 weeks fermenting, I just bottled my first beer. It's an oatmeal stout! It looked good, smelled good, and I can't wait to try it. I bottled up 9x12oz bottles and I'm going to open one a week on weeks 2-10 to see when it tastes best (then I'll have 20x22oz bottles to enjoy). It's a good thing I'm patient. I don't think it's too early to name the beer. Is it too early to name my operation?

Ingredients for the next 2 batches are already on their way.

Awesome, congrats on the first beer and enjoy! Nah, it's never too early to name your beer or your brewery! Get creative and have fun with it.

Ok, so the beer is going to be Ealskin Stout. I'm going to call my operation Fine Girl Brewing Co.

Congrats on your first brew! I like to see how my beers age as well. I even have a few tasting sheets that I fill out and put with my recipe sheet. This gives me an Idea as to how long I should let the beer age the next time I brew it.

Now that it's in the bottle, I find myself feeling a little lonely. I miss the sounds of fermentation from the corner. The worst part is that I don't even have a homebrew to console me (yet).

Better yet get a new batch in primary, then go out and buy another primary (or two) and fill it (them) also! Get that pipeline filled and soon you won't have to buy beer anymore. (unless you need the bottles) Welcome to the obsession!

Yep, just started a wheat beer that I'm going to rack onto blueberries. Also trying my hand at an apfelwein. It'll be nice to hear the pitter patter of young beer in my kitchen again.

[edit] Wow, both were bubbling w/in 1 hour. Those yeasties work fast!

So now my third beer, a honey brown, is in bottles. I've got the makings for 2 more brews ready to go for this weekend. Man this is fun! The Oatmeal stout tastes fantastic now!

Greetings from Western New York... My first brewwas a Brewers Best Irish Stout. I thought I liked dark beer, but I was wrong. I loved it, made it twice since the first one. I'm working toward the capacity to do it all grain. Made lot's of all grain brew but not a stout yet.
